American music icon J. J. Cale influenced artists across genres and generations as one of the originators of the Tulsa Sound—a mix of rockabilly, country, rock ’n’ roll, and blues. 

Cale recorded this trove of previously unreleased songs in his characteristic sinuous style—laid-back bluesy guitar and almost whispered vocals. He's accompanied by some of the finest musicians of the era including bassist Tim Drummond, drummer Jim Keltner, and guitarist Richard Thompson.
